Welcome to The Sisterhood Sanctuary

At Sisterhood Sanctuary, we believe that healing isn’t just about survival — it’s about restoration, empowerment, and becoming whole again.

Founded by Yanni Profit, Rashida Hughes, Sisterhood Sanctuary was born from lived experience, faith, and a shared mission to bridge the gap in domestic violence support across the South Suburbs of Chicago. As survivors of domestic violence and narcissistic abuse, we understood the silence, the fear, and the barriers that keep too many women from finding safety and starting over.

We turned that pain into purpose — building a sanctuary where women can rise, rebuild, and reclaim their lives.

Our  purpose  is to meet survivors where they are by providing holistic, survivor-driven services that address immediate safety needs while fostering long-term healing and stability. Through crisis response, advocacy, and community partnerships, our work aims not only to protect lives but to transform the systems and communities that allow domestic violence to persist.

Our Goals

Safety & Stability

To provide immediate, compassionate crisis response and safe emergency housing for women and children escaping domestic violence. Every survivor deserves a secure place to breathe, rest, and begin rebuilding her life free from fear.

Healing & Restoration

To create trauma-informed spaces that nurture emotional, spiritual, and mental wellness. Through counseling, support groups, and faith-based healing programs, we help survivors rediscover their strength and reclaim their peace.

Empowerment & Economic Independence

To break the cycle of abuse by providing survivors with the tools to thrive — including job readiness training, financial literacy workshops, and long-term resource navigation that promotes self-sufficiency and freedom.

Education & Youth Development

To invest in prevention through education. Our FLOW TO FLOURISH initiative empowers young Black girls to embrace their identity, build confidence, and lead with purpose. By shaping strong minds early, we create a future generation that recognizes their worth and demands respect.

Advocacy & Community Change

To be a voice for the voiceless — engaging in public awareness, policy advocacy, and collaborative partnerships that shift how our communities respond to domestic violence. We believe systemic change begins when survivors lead the conversation.
